Everything you hear is the owls — no instruments, nothing added. The hoots, their back-and-forth duet, the cackling “monkey” call, an owlet’s hiss, and a summer night of crickets, all cleaned up and layered into one three-minute piece.
X and Henrietta take their names from the Neighborhood of Make-Believe in Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood — X the Owl, who lived in a tree, and his neighbor Henrietta Pussycat. Naming a real owl in a real tree “X” was too good to pass up. The owlets, Frazzle and Dazzle, are ours.
